Let's start from the beginning...
I’m passionate about nature since I was a child. I delicately played with ladybugs and snails when I spent the summers with my grandparents in the small village of the Spanish countryside (in Ávila), where my family comes from.
As a teenager, I was sure I wanted to study something related to nature. First, it was Biology, but then, the university career of Environmental Science was created in Spain, so the decision was clear because my dream was to improve the world.
Going abroad was not in question. I turned 20 in Copenhagen, during my Erasmus year. I participated in an international MSc. Environmental Engineering program held in English at the DTU (Technical University of Denmark) with students from all around the world (literally: Australia, USA, Asia, África…). It was so enriching! Furthermore, it gave me the opportunity to be part of a joint course with the Malaysian University in Kuala Lumpur and explore the country (incl. Borneo) and Singapore for 5 weeks.
I discovered many different cultures and was delighted by the world’s diversity. New ideas and perspectives raised in my mind and changed me forever.
After combining my studies with volunteer service at the Red Cross and a Scout group, and my first job as a teleoperator, I spent over four years in Germany. There, I learnt German (it was even harder than expected…), completed my Master’s Thesis at the worldwide leader manufacturer of solar cells at that time and experienced the booming of the photovoltaic sector during a traineeship in R&D and working in Sales & Marketing (providing technical support to international customers). My tasks included translating technical and corporate documentation.
But the global financial crisis put the industry in check. I started learning continuously in marketing, business management, specialised translation, etc., while considering new career paths.
My last experiences after becoming a freelancer were coordinating a Business Management Project for an SME in the environmental sector and collaborating with a marketing agency on international online and offline campaigns for the agri-food sector.
Since January 2016, I’ve been a full-time professional Spanish translator, providing accurate, clear, and natural business translations, as well as other services to support the expansion of businesses, thanks to effective communication.
